Blackjack Betting Strategies to Lower Losses
There are many blackjack betting strategies designed to lower losses. Wins as well as losses are a fact in blackjack games. As there should be tactics to increase wins, so must there be tactics that decrease losing chances.
One betting strategy worth learning is estimating the number of cards still in the decks in the shoe. What our odds are with respect to the number of cards out and in the decks determines our bets. If the odds in our favor are there, we bet a little high. When the odds seem against us, we bet a little. Should the odds we thought were ours turn out the opposite, we lose just a little. It's also good to supplement this tactic with default or medium bets when the odds seem average.
Default and first round bets should be similar. As we raise and lower a bit the bets we do so with variations, taking care never to be too predictable with the bet amounts. Being predictable with bets, especially in contests, can provide good hints for the opponents and makes our losses more frequent than necessary. It is generally better to be the last betting player in a game. Hidden bets are most effective toward the end of the game, especially in blackjack tournaments.
Basically, blackjack betting strategies that reduce losses should pay particular attention to the timing of a move in relation to the strength of the hand we have and what we perceive to be the opponent's. Then couple this with an advancing but cautious betting moves. To be safe, the common rule is to spend only 2 percent of our bankroll in a game. This considerably caps our betting average and lesson losses—especially in a down streak.
Well, two percent betting average can hardly come up with a killing, even if we win several times in a row, but what we're examining here is the strategy for minimizing losses. We either have a strategy for big wins or low losses. The option is to balance both in a game. Hence, we recommend alternating betting strategies—high and low—to keep ourselves from being predictable. In online blackjack this 2 percent betting average will still keep us qualified for comps and other bonuses.
To keep losses at a very minimum, we have to be wise with out blackjack betting strategies. Basically, we must have carefully well thought of betting tactics for every blackjack situation we face.
